A business built on love
and love of great food

An interest becomes a passion.

Our dad loved the food industry but had an entrepreneurial spirit that didn’t quite fit the corporate mold. In 1976, with a wife and three young kids at home, he took a leap of faith and started Waymouth Farms right in our family garage.

4:00 am. The perfect time for a meeting.

Our dad’s initial idea was simple yet ambitious – sell bulk nuts, seeds, and dried fruit to produce managers at independent grocery stores. He quickly learned that these early risers were stocking shelves before dawn, so he adapted. Waking up at 3 a.m., he met them on their terms, building relationships that helped the company gain its first foothold in the industry.

The Family Business on Four Wheels.

In the early days, our family van doubled as the company delivery vehicle, shuttling products and kids alike. Family trips often included unplanned detours to check out a new grocery store or deliver an order, reinforcing the idea that business was always personal.

A Family Tradition.

The three of us grew up in the business, working across all functions well into adulthood. While we each pursued separate careers for a time, the gravitational pull of our family business always drew us back. In 2017, as our dad turned 80, he proudly sold the business to us – the second generation – allowing us to carry forward the family legacy he built.

Today, the business continues to grow as we build on and honor the legacy of our dad. Waymouth Farms is now Good Sense Foods, which includes several, nationally-distributed, strong brands within its’ portfolio – Salad Pizazz!®, and Good Sense® Snacks.

Handcrafted with care by people who care.

We carry forward our dad’s lessons of integrity, goodwill, and a relentless focus on quality, striving every day to create products our employees, customers, and community can be proud of. We hope you love our snacks as much as our dad did – and as much as we do.
